What a useful dehumidifier comparison should normalize

A good comparison starts by separating the capacity test conditions. It then keeps airflow, pump, operating range, electrical load, physical size and monitoring on their own rows. This prevents a larger saturation PPD number from overpowering every other decision factor.

The table also includes verification and conflict status. That is important because exact product identity and data confidence can matter as much as a nominal feature difference.

AHAM and saturation are not two names for the same capacity

AHAM is commonly published at 80°F and 60% RH, while saturation is commonly published at 90°F and 90% RH. Compare displays each value with its test condition when the normalized record contains those fields. If the saturation value is not verified, the row remains N/A rather than estimating it from AHAM.

Process airflow deserves a separate row

Process air in CFM describes how much air moves through the dehumidifier. It can affect ducting and distribution, but it is not moisture-removal capacity. Dri-Eaz LGR 6000Li currently publishes 320 CFM and 100 PPD AHAM, while LGR 7000XLi publishes 280 CFM and 130 PPD AHAM. Compare keeps both facts visible.

COP is useful only where the manufacturer publishes it

Some current AlorAir records publish COP in liters per kilowatt-hour. Many other current normalized records do not. Compare therefore displays COP as a separate field and leaves missing values N/A rather than calculating a homemade efficiency number from incomplete data.

Operating temperature can completely change the winner for a job

A model with attractive capacity may still be unsuitable if the expected environment falls outside its published range. Phoenix 250 MAX currently publishes operation to 125°F, while several compact AlorAir models publish upper limits around 104–110°F. The table makes that difference visible without turning high-temperature capability into a universal quality score.

Pump and drainage are exact-model fields

A built-in pump can materially improve unattended operation, but pump lift, hose length and gravity-drain support should not be assumed across a product category. Compare shows each documented drainage field separately. Where the current normalized record is incomplete, the row stays N/A.

Physical size and weight matter to a restoration fleet

A 63 lb compact LGR and a 157 lb high-capacity unit can both be strong tools for different jobs. Vehicle loading, stairs, storage, one-person handling and the number of units needed all affect the practical decision. Compare keeps those logistics rows beside capacity rather than hiding them in a footnote.

Monitoring is not a substitute for moisture measurement

Connected platforms can help with asset management and environmental visibility, but they do not prove that wet materials are dry. Compare shows remote monitoring, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the named platform where documented without treating connectivity as a professional-drying completion metric.

Why BlueDri BD-130 can appear here

BD-130 is held from Finder because its current manufacturer page contains conflicting AHAM capacity statements. Compare can still show the current product record and the stored conflict. That makes the uncertainty visible instead of erasing the product or pretending the disputed AHAM value is settled.

How to read a capacity difference in the table

A 20- or 30-PPD AHAM difference can matter, but its practical value depends on how many machines are required and what comes with the larger unit. Higher capacity may reduce unit quantity on a large loss; it can also bring more weight, higher amp draw or a larger chassis. Compare is designed so the capacity row can be read next to those operational costs instead of in isolation.

For example, a contractor deciding between compact 80–85 PPD units and a 125–145 PPD platform should consider stairs, available circuits, how the equipment will be distributed across rooms and whether fewer larger machines improve or complicate the job. The table does not try to compress those tradeoffs into one winner badge.

Filter and support rows matter after the purchase

A commercial dehumidifier becomes part of a working fleet. Filter type, published replacement part numbers, manuals, support documentation and warranty resources can affect downtime and maintenance even though they do not change AHAM capacity. Compare exposes the normalized support evidence where available so a buyer can distinguish a well-documented exact model from one whose current technical support trail is thinner.

Missing support documents are not proof that a manufacturer offers no support; they mean those exact resources are not currently normalized in Restoration Select. The row stays factual instead of turning absence from our dataset into a negative product claim.

Use Differences only after reviewing the common rows once

The Differences-only switch is useful for a final shortlist, but common values can still provide context. If every selected model has a pump or every model belongs to the same LGR class, seeing that common baseline once helps explain why the decision shifts to temperature, weight, capacity or electrical load. After that, hiding identical rows makes a three- or four-model table easier to scan.

Prices remain dated context

Where a dated price observation exists in the commerce record, it can appear in the table. It does not create a winner and it is not assumed to be live. Always verify the current merchant offer before purchasing.
