LGR 3500i: maximum capacity in the current normalized Dri-Eaz group

LGR 3500i publishes 170 PPD AHAM, 270 PPD saturation and 400 CFM process air. It is also the heaviest and highest-draw machine in this group at 157 lb and 10.8A. That combination can be practical when a large-capacity machine reduces the number of units needed, but it is a different transport and electrical decision from the compact models.

LGR 5000Li and Revolution LGR emphasize portability

LGR 5000Li and Revolution LGR both publish 80 PPD AHAM, but their other fields differ. LGR 5000Li publishes 164 PPD saturation, 215 CFM process air, 5.1A and 69 lb. Revolution LGR publishes 144 PPD saturation, 180 CFM, 5.5A and 63 lb.

That makes them useful examples of why matching only the AHAM number can miss meaningful deployment differences.

LGR 6000Li, 6500XLi and 7000XLi occupy the middle-to-large fleet range

LGR 6000Li publishes 100 PPD AHAM at 6.5A. LGR 6500XLi steps to 125 PPD at 7.8A. LGR 7000XLi reaches 130 PPD at 8.8A. The 6500XLi and 7000XLi both weigh 106 lb in the current records, but their process-air and saturation figures differ.

How to choose between these Dri-Eaz models

Start with a defensible capacity requirement, then check what that capacity costs in amps, weight and equipment quantity. A smaller machine can be easier on stairs and easier to distribute between rooms. A larger machine can reduce fleet count on an open loss. Process airflow, filter standardization and existing fleet familiarity can also matter.

Use the Dri-Eaz family page as a starting point, not a sizing formula

Capacity per pound shows a different fleet tradeoff

Weight becomes easier to interpret when it is read beside capacity rather than by itself. Revolution LGR and LGR 5000Li both publish 80 PPD AHAM, but Revolution is about 6 lb lighter. LGR 6500XLi and LGR 7000XLi both weigh 106 lb, yet the 7000XLi publishes 5 PPD more AHAM while the 6500XLi publishes more process airflow. LGR 3500i reaches 170 PPD AHAM, but at 157 lb it asks much more of transport, stairs and truck loading.

There is no universal winner in those ratios. A contractor who values fewer units may accept a heavier chassis; a crew working across several floors may prefer distributing smaller machines. The useful comparison is the capacity the job requires versus the handling cost the fleet can absorb.

Process airflow should not be used as a shortcut for PPD

Dri-Eaz publishes 180 CFM for Revolution LGR, 215 CFM for LGR 5000Li, 320 CFM for both LGR 6000Li and 6500XLi, 280 CFM for LGR 7000XLi and 400 CFM for LGR 3500i. Those numbers describe process air, not moisture removal. The 6500XLi has more process airflow than the 7000XLi even though the 7000XLi has slightly higher AHAM capacity.

That distinction matters when ducting or air distribution is part of the setup. The dehumidifier Finder keeps minimum process airflow as a separate requirement rather than blending it into a single performance score.

Electrical planning can change the practical fleet count

Per-unit amp draw ranges from 5.1A for LGR 5000Li to 10.8A for LGR 3500i in the current normalized Dri-Eaz group. A project may be able to meet the same aggregate AHAM target with several different model combinations, but those combinations can create very different electrical totals.
